“Stop all the clocks”

W. H Auden wrote the poem “Stop all the clocks” which was made famous in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral.  Back in my National Diploma in Pontypool College I used this poem to make a series of three pieces which are based on the poem.  Unbekownst to me at the time, my father was to die unexpectantly a couple of months after this was finished so it has become quite poignant to me.

W. H. Auden

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog
from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

bring out the mourners let the coffin come
bring out the mourners let the coffin come
