Grace and Chasqi

When Tom Croft called out to artists to help with his NHS heroes portrait challenge I submitted my name and was contacted by Grace an ICU nurse in Oxford.  She always wore a picture of her and her beloved dog Chasqi on the front of her PPE gown to help patients identify who she was and to give them something to talk about.

Above is a picture of Grace in her PPE, the finished painting in oils and the original picture.  I have loved doing this picture as it helps me give something back to these brave people who are sacrificing their lives for us everyday.

Unfortunately Chasqi passed away before Christmas so this picture is doubly valued.

Grace and her picture, below.
