Layla

Layla

Here is a picture of Layla.  I started out intending to make a normal head out of clay but Layla came along instead.  When she started to develop in my hands I had an idea that she was developing into one of those women who have rings around their neck. This is a sign of beauty in their tribes.  So, I covered her neck with gold leaf and put an Indian style ring through her nose that connects to her ear.  To me she appears like a missing link in the evolution of homo sapiens.
